This seaweed can be found at many sites all over Devon and Cornwall Peninsula. Images here were taken at Marazion, near Penzance, Cornwall; Porth Nanven, St. Just, Cornwall; and Wembury Point, South Devon.
I have just found a really good site for this species at Wherry Rocks, Penzance, Cornwall. Good in respect that the site is very sheltered and the species here has rather large ruffles on its blades. Quite a diverse range of fauna can be found on looking between these ruffles. If there's no access to the lowershore then it's well worth looking at it on the strandline after storms to see what animals can be found. A wide range can usually be found, including sea mats, amphipods, isopods, sea squirts, molluscs such as the Blue-rayed Limpet and even small fish, such as Sea snails, Small clingfish and Two-spotted gobies.
